Thinking about getting into another species of chameleon.

I feel I'm ready for another chameleon now, but I'm not sure what to get - yes, it's another one of those threads.

I don't plan on getting the chameleon until the next reptile show - I don't see one planned anytime soon so I have a lot of time to read up and study on whatever I choose.
I think I'd rather not get a panther or a veiled, perhaps it's time to move on to something a bit more challanging. :)

I have a spare cage, well, reptarium. I have the cage completely set up for a veiled, but adjustments can be made as needed.
Nothing has been used yet, I just like to make sure I have everything ready... even if it's a couple months in advance.
We will have a bit of trouble finding plants this time of year, though.
All of our ficuses are dying - I kill all plants within a couple months of getting them, all except pothos.
Yay pothos.

Anywho, I am looking to get something that has similar care to crested geckos, I would like to try to keep them in the same room, since that is where I have the cage pre-set up.
I was looking into cristatus but I think they are a bit out of my league, as are most montane species.
During the summer it is a bit more difficult to drop the temperature to a good number at night.

Well, any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Still not 100% sure I will be getting it even at the next show!
I just wanted to post this now so I could start researching - even if I don't get the chameleon, the knowledge is still there.

Thanks!

Pygs are really tempting, but their short lifespan is a bit... deterring.

I would love to get a jacksons, but I haven't heard many great stories about them doing well in Arizona.. LOL!

How about a veiled and see if you can maintain it longer than the last? I don't see the point in getting in over your head.
Neither of my veileds have passed away. I don't know where you are getting that information.
I recently found a really good deal for a cage setup that was purchased @ the Phoenix Show in November.
$20 is something hard to pass up for a reptarium and supplements that are unopened.

I guess I don't know the names of all of your animals... but I do see you posting a lot of RIP messages. I assumed your chams were among those on the list.

So how many chams do you have and what kind?

I love it when people assume others' pets are dead and give advise based on those assumptions.

Summoner you need to stop trying to start fires.

I thought the advice was pretty straight and to the point, based on what I thought her collection consisted of. I only ever hear her talk about geckos... I figured the chams were no longer with us.

OK! Let's get back on topic! Does anyone else have suggestions? Thank you Linkin!

Back on topic...... alright....

I think it would be best if you stick with what ya got and save money for vet visits and cham food since you talk so much about not having money.

It isn't good to stretch yourself too thin.

i dont see a fire he wasnt rude, i think he said it very nice as not to get in over her head. there have been a few RIP threads and i even stuck up for her the last one for the rippin she got but lookin bk tend to totally agree with the person. when someone posts on everyone elses threads things they doin wrong or things she thinks shes doin wrong she needs be able to take the same bk

AGREED. If you can criticize everyone else and you need to be able to hear it back.

Syn- In order to make suggestions, its best to know what you currently have or have had in the past. Perhaps you could clarify for us.

Do you have any panthers? They are my favorite because of all the locales. Also, high end translucent veileds are very neat.

Stick with something that tolerates high temps that wont bake in AZ easily. Id go with a furcifer verrucosus.

ps-chad may have some cbb ones
