Bug napper.....this thing is SWEET !!!

I got this given to me last summer, 2 of them really - but it was getting cold, so I just put them up for the winter - it was only 42 out last night, but I wanted to test it - SWEET !! 2 big fat moths :D I keep my chams outside 24/7 in the summer, so I know they get wild bugs , and we live in the middle of nowhere - so I do not worry about pesticide, and like I said, they eat wild stuff all the time- if you feed wild bugs, these are GREAT to catch moths, you can pick the size of funnel so you can only catch tiny moths , or up to pretty big ones depending on the funnel size you chose - and the lid is such that you screw off the bottom, and then the little funnel part comes off when you have it in the cage, they just fly out - mostly I like the fact I wont look like a crazy woman at night chasing moths around the porch lights at night- :p

That is awesome!!! And picturing seeing someone chase moths on their porch is cracking me up! Unfortunately I live in a farm town where many pesticides are sprayed so I can not do this :(

I know a few little boys who would think this was the coolest thing ever! You could get one and just catch and release :)

I don't have a issue with pesticides either, so what is this thing called, and where can I get one :)

BUG NAPPER - I THINK maybe LLL sells them - I got mine from a guy who closed a shop, he donated it to the rescue - I would not wait if you want one, I heard they are discontinued , but look on ebay or amazon if LLL does not have them - they are so easy to use too- just hang it, turn it on, and walk away - in the AM you will have fat, juicy moths :D Olive was so excited to have her first moth of the yr she about leaped in it, and got my finger too - lol its all about the food w/ her :p

I am not sure how you keep you cham if outside, but another thing that works, if you have a cage outside and they are not in it at night, hang a light in it over night ( w/ the cham out - lol ) in the AM , the cage is full of bugs, take the light back out, and put the cham in - just check for UNWANTED bugs first- I have never had anything bad get in mine, but I dont know what kind of bugs you have around you - even those little green "mini cicadas" ( they look like little leaf bugs) get in - they LOVE those !!

I want one too! I've been having such a hard time lately trying to find anything that Piko is interested in eating. I think wild bugs may be just the thing. amazon don't have them, except through a third party, so I will go with petguys too. Great price, even with shipping.

I'm going to buy one aswell! I've seen them in petshops nearby but I thought it would be some commercial stuff that wouldn't work.

Hopefully we have enough moths in Europe :)

it only took 1 day for mine to learn that putting the cup part in the cage is full of goodies- I did not even get it in and settled and one zapped from a plant, scared me - LOL the bottom comes off, and you can use it like a feed cup- you will see what I mean when you get one :D I am going to mess about, and come up w/ a home made one - moths are not real smart ya know  and I think I can come w/ something we can make at home- but dont put of your purchase - I have been outsmarted by a mist king - let hope moths are not as smart - LOL

you do have to sort it - you can not just dump all of it in there - the risk of pesticide is slim, the land in front of me is an organic hay farm, the other side is a river, behind us is a old bean field, and we own the property and woods next to us - we have lived here over 20 yrs- and NEVER treat our property with any type of pesticide - is it possible they COULD get one, yes- likely - no ;)
