This video is so wrong

I didnt watch butni would agree according to your statement. But if you post it on here people are going to click on the link and you are just encouraging the people who post these types of videos.

Someone sholud go face to face with that w****r and see how he likes a bit of a confrontation! (yes i know it's natural in the wild, but a dining room table is not the wild)

Its actually a pretty interesting video in the sense that I just learned how chameleons fight....but remember, the rule of thumb is everything in moderation.

I agree it is interesting how they try to bump eachother off the table like they would off a branch in the wild. They don't really try to bite. Doesn't seem that bad to me.

Theres enuff of this type stuff already out there for educational purposes. Thats not what this guy wa posting it for. If your showing a male to another for a few seconds to get one to get fired up to breed thats one thing. But risking injury to one or both is flat out abuse. No diff in my opinion than making two dogs fight for the pleasure of the audience. Not cool, and borderline barbaric. Arent we humans so evolved.

I noticed how they didnt bite either but more of wrestling eachother..but i wouldnt put mine through the stress..

my old veiled tried fighting him self once. he walked up to a mirror and looked at him self, then started head butting the crap out of the mirror. i quickly took him away from it, but it was interesting none the less.

Apparently that is OK as long as you didn't video tape it.

Would've been better if he didn't let the nosybe fall of the bed, i agree that the video isn't that bad but the cameraman/owner should've taken a little bit more precaution

Agreed that it could have been handled better but the owner probably didn't know that was going to happen. Seemed like he jumped to make sure the cham was ok. Maybe they learned a lesson who knows.

I wouldn't either but I am not offended by the video at all. Not even a little.

Have to agree. "Stress" in chameleons has become so mis-used when it comes to chameleons. The type of stress to avoid is long-term stress. While there may be no point to filming it and "fishing" for angry responses on youtube, neither animal was injured and it seemed pretty clear that the camera was turned off when it became necessary to intervene.

Edit: I've watched it over and over and don't see the hybrid falling. Are you guys seeing a more complete video with him falling?

I agree 100.5 %

I didn't even watch again to see if that happened. I just saw that posted on this thread.

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hang grenades.

I've never seen them fight so I didn't know that's how panthers roughed things out.

Interesting to see this fighting style in a chameleon other than a Trioceros, which would be using horns in the same fashion as these two panthers going at it.

I assumed panthers hissed/gaped and bit each other.

Makes me wonder how horns came into, or out of play in the evolutionary scale.

I have seen this video ..and have commented on it (mine is figg2112). I found it interesting but also had the potential of being dangerious . Not all male Chameleons would head butt as a form of fighting some would resort to biting and could cause some real damage to the opponent . Not something I would reccomend anyone trying due to the risk on injury and stress. .

Overall the video has Potential to go badly but turns out to be quite mild.

Its not like its in the wild and there fighting on a branch over a female. He set them up with a towel and was trying to see them fight like two roosters. It def wasnt for educational purposes.

Would it bother you guys to know that some of the most successful Parson's chameleon breeders over time have reported the need to let males engage in ritual combat with each other to get breeding activity?

If thats what needs to be done. Its not like there setting up a ring and watching them fight for entertainment.
