Thought on ripping the cricket’s hind legs off?

In the UK I have access to dubia roaches, slickworms, crickets, locusts, mealworms, superworms, snails, flies, not sure about black solider fly larvae and definitely not allowed hornworms.

If you don’t want to deal with crickets jumping around your place if they escape, having some of them die often or, this is my biggest fear, having crickets bite your chameleon, (in case you plan to put them in the cham’s cage for him to hunt them and forgetting to take them out), I suggest you get dubias instead of crickets. Like, use them as the main feeder. They don’t have as much chitin as crickets and they’re very nutritious. Not to mention, the male dubias have wings but they don’t jump nor fly :)
You can also use silkworms often as they’re high in nutrients as well and they’re the best when it comes to moisture. I can’t speak about locusts because I’m scared of crickets, locusts, grasshoppers and anything that jumps. (Although I’m getting a bit used to crickets as it’s what I can get until I find dubias and silkworms). Snails are also high in moisture, but I don’t know what else they’re good in. And hornworms, there’s no hornworms here so :,))

Apart that insects don’t feel pain when losing their thicc legs, I’d rather pull some cricket legs off before having their legs hurt my baby cham’s throat, having him starve because he’s picky and loves crickets, or having them run around and kill/gang up on my cham while he’s unaware. My cham goes first, sorry crickets!
At least I do keep my crickets comfortable and feed them carrots, cucumber (i think it is), apple and potato with some calcium so they can carry the good stuff for my cham!
Insects do not feel pain when someone rips their extremities off?
Where do yoj get this nonsense from?
Of course they do.
Amd therefore, it is prohibited by law and consodered unethical and act of animal cruelty to
Do so.
Please
Do not spread that type if wrong information further. People
Might base their decision on it!!!

Bsfl are known over here in the uk as calci worms. I’ve picked them up from pets at home before. You can also get buffalo worms over here online. They look like small mealworms but aren’t. They have a thinner exoskeleton and are also more nutritious than mealworms so easier to digest for our scaly friends and better for them than mealworms.
