Tips on dealing with Spiders?

Hey guys.

So I am waiting to start a dubia colony along with isopods, silkies, and some other stuff. It has been along time since I have had a reptile and when I last did it was in another city.

Where I live now is extremely wooded. There is huge pine trees all around my house. So naturally every year our house is full of spiders all the time, in the winter we kill 4-5+ per day easy.

Anyway my question is how do you guys deal with spider issues. I am afraid the spiders will infiltrate the bug habitats for a quick snack.

I want to keep my dubia (and most of the bugs really) in drawer systems. Large drawers for dubia of course. The issue is not sure that will keep spiders out. Even if I went with the large plastic bins that most use, those have gaps too, that aint going to keep spiders out is it?

Have you tried spraying around the outside of your house to help keep out the spiders?

Ya every year. However thing is spray doesn't work on spiders. The bigger issue is while we do get the occansional widow or recluse. Most of the spiders we get are Forest Tarantulas, usually about the size of a dime or up to about a half dollar. They come down from the 100 foot trees all around the house and get in through the roof vents. I was thinking about trying to seal the rooms cracks, replace trim with rounded corners puttied and painted. Rubber guards on the door to the rest of the house, this room also has a door to outside rubber that as well. I been reading some other tips online that help with spiders and escapees as well. Like letting a bunch of desert geckos (they are native here, well not my town in the mountain but in phoenix a few hours away) go inside the house.
