Toe-nail shredding

My 10-11month old male Veiled's THREE back left toes are gone. Its only on that foot- and the skin around it isn't puffy so im hoping no infection. I read to put Neosporin on his open toes? I'm concerned why they are missing in the first place-and worried it will be harmful or hurtful for him. He is eating normal and everything else is normal. Will these toe nails grow back??? I don't believe nail shedding is common?
Please help.

Unfortunately my understanding is they wont grow back. My guy chipped one of his front nails. It can happen with screen cages a lot where their nails get snagged.

I've also heard of the neosporin thing but I believe there is a specific type to use, so please make sure to find out before you use it.

Edit: Wait toes are gone or toe nails are gone??

Use polysporin with NO pain relief. It should help
