I am planning on bring my Veiled Cham in with me to work, I work at an elementary school, and I was wondering what would be the best way to transport her from home to work? Should I get a small mesh cage so she feels comfortable? Or should I get those plastic cages that you keep crickets in? Thanks to all for helping me with my questions :p

It will be a one day visit, to show the kids a very cool looking animal. And to hopefully teach them something and get them interested in Chams.

then you should be fine in anything your cham has to move around throw some fake plants so it has something to climb on but yeah a little mesh cage would probally be the best plus you can have it set up in your class for the rest of the day ! plus im sure the kids will want you 2 bring it back again haha so then you always have a transporter! .. hope that helps best of luck

Id buy a inexpensive mesh cage that breaks down easy, and bring a homedepot clamp light with a 60watt light bulb. :) buy some vines and plastic plant and your all set for a cheap travel cage.

Thank a lot, I found an octagon mesh cage at a pet store and was thinking about buying that. But it looks kinda flimsy but I will look for some others.

I will definitely look around at the local pet shops and see what they have. I really like the octagon one that I found so I might just buy that one and show some pics of how it looks.

Just make sure the kids dont crowd it...could be stressful.

Thats the other thing I was worried about, but I plan on having the kids form a line and just have one kid look at a time. But knowing these kids that wont last very long lol

i wish my teachers did somethin like that when i was a kid you sound like a great teacher the kids must love you!

lol funny thing is that I am the cooking instructor for middle school and also a teachers aide during the day that I'm not cooking with the kids.

Ok so I went out and bought the cage, its pretty cool looking. Heres a pic.

lol I will be placing everything together tonight so that way I dont forget anything and flip out in the morning while I'm driving to work :p

Well the kids fell in love with Hera, so many questions from all of them. Where did I get her, why are her feet like that, why does her tail curl up, and why isn't she changing colors lol. I got like 9 drawings from the kids of Hera, she was very well behaved until she pooped on me lol. Gave me a chance to check to see how it looked fresh for once. Other than that the kids loved her and a few are asking if they are easy to take care of and so on. So hopefully I got a load of kids interested in Chams :D

If you are looking for something just to transport the veiled, a brown paper bag with a crumpled paper towel will work fine. This will reduce the stress of anything visually the chameleon can see.
This will work well as long as you have a cage at school as well.
