Trioceros goetzei

Cainschams

I have had quite a few people asking for pictures of these girls and I took some decent ones today so I thought I would share:) I have had them for 5 or 6 months. They seem to be doing really well and I am really enjoying them but I hope they will be with a budday on Canadian soil in the near future;)

Beautiful! I'm truly jealous! You have some very, very interesting species.

Oh and, which part of Canada are they coming to? :)

really exquisite little chams , since they are trioceros i am assuming the males have horns ?

No. Not all Trioceros possess horns.

It's about time! They've come a very long way under your care, Jared.

Fantastic job!

P.S. More, more, more...

Thanks guys!

xanthoman, no males do not have horns.

Fabián, thank you!!! I have really enjoyed keeping them no matter how stressful they make me:rolleyes: I have tons of pics of them. I will try and put a few more up soon.

Edit: I dont think its a big guess who they may go to. The only person i can think of who should have them ;)

Very nice animals, they really surprise me how they look. Do you have more pictures. I should have bought them one time but then it where bitaeniatus (agian :( )

chris,

can you explain to me by chance what makes a chameleon fall into the Trioceros catagory amongst chameleons, i have been trying to figure it out for some time but just can't seem to do it myself.

there has to be something unique that makes them fit into this classification.

I think my english is not good enough but I'll try, Chris please help me ;-).

Indeed not all Trioceros have the rostal horns, but all species within this genus should have the place where a rostal horn could grown. But it doesn't do so with al species.

Examples of some species without horns are:
The bitaeniatus complex (bitaeniatus, goetzei, ellioti, rudis, sternfeldi, schubotzi)
wiedersheimi.

To be honest I wonder if a research is being done about the bitaeniatus complex and there taxonomie.

Jared,

I saw pictures of them when they first came in and I have to say that you have done an amazing job of getting them acclimated.
Phenomenal work!

If I remember right, the lung and hemipenis structur are the most important points when to decide if they are Chamaeleo or Trioceros
