I would try and PM Chris Anderson. He's the best at deciphering species/subspecies.

Trioceros hoehnelii altaeelgonis is not a valid subspecies at this time. It was originally erected for high elevation specimens from Mount Elgon in Uganda. Some sources went so far as to say that all Ugandan animals represented T. h. altaeelgonis with all Kenyan specimens representing T. h. hoehnelii. Subsequent work revealed, however, that these T. h. altaeelgonis were nothing more than a dwarfed highland form of the nominate type, which occurs on the lower slopes of Mount Elgon, with no interruption of gene flow between the two forms. As a result, they are all simply Trioceros hoehnelii. That said, yours is a lowland Ugandan locality based on the coloration and patterning.
