Umbrella plant is dying

So I have a dwarf umbrella plant in both cages for my chams. Nearly identical conditions for each plant but one is thriving and one is dying. Should I cut my losses and get a new one or is there something I can do to nurse it back to health? The only thing I can think of is the mister is less directly on top of the plant in the dying one, but it still gets what seems to be plenty of water.

Thoughts?

It could be getting too much water. That will kill them also. Causes root rot. Are you sure all the water is draining out properly from the plant pot??

What Carol said. If the soil is soggy it can lead to root rot. If it's dry the roots are not getting enough water and you should water the soil to get it moist, but not soggy like mush or mud.

I have a hard time keeping them as they do prefer some shade. Do you have the light right on top of it. Otherwise yes not to wet or to dry.
