Update on Luie’s Health Issues

I'm almost afraid to say this because I don't want to jinks anything but I believe Luie is feeling a little better. He is more active and his color looks better. My vet Dr. Alfonso was here yesterday and he even thought Luie looked better than when he checked him last month. This will be his 7th. day of the Cipro and I am praying that it will continue to work and I'll get to enjoy having Luie in my live for a little while longer.

Thats so awsome Jann :) We were all hopeing and praying for a good update.

Hey Jan! I haven't been on the forum lately due to personal things coming up but I'm glad to hear Luie is doing better! I hope his recovery progresses and he re builds that strength back! Best of luck!

Ben

Luie Update

I took Luie to Dr. Mader's yesterday and he got his stitches out and the moment he clipped the stitches tons of puss came out and I've got to flush out the hole every day for about a week. Dr. Mader thought he looked better and said he may never get back to 100% but he may be able to live a little longer with some quality of life. He wants me to put a little more weight on him incase he gets sick and can't eat he'll have some reserve there. He wants me to bring him back at the end of Oct. for a recheck and he's going to xray and do a needle biopsy then.

I ate dinner at the restaurant next to to hotel. I sit outside by the water with Luie. All the people there loved Luie. Then I took Luie on a walk on the dock on the water behind the hotel. When we went up to our room I set Luie up on his little tree and he looked out the window till time to go to bed. I think he felt better getting all that puss out of him. He's a really great travel partner.

I wish I had pictures of you taking him for a walk on the dock. I'm glad he seems to be feeling better and that there's promise of some quality time with him.

Hey Jann, sounds like you and Mr. Luie had a nice trip to the coast, even if there was a Dr. visit envolved!!! Thanks got the update!

Oh my Jann!! I bet he will feel better now that all the purulent is out!!
I can just imagine how beautiful it was for the two of you to share time together on your walk and on the beach. I'm so glad you had this quality time together after all you have been through.

Teehee! I can just picture Loui and you having a nice candle lit dinner alfresco! :D

I'm so glad to hear he's still with us and doing better! Long may it continue :)

I am so sorry to hear of Luie's health problems, but I am also hopeful that by the sounds of things, he is well on the road to recovery! Please keep us updated and I will keep you and your Luie in my thoughts and prayers!

Update on Luie's visit with Dr. Mader

I took Luie to Marathon today for his recheck in the hurricane winds and rain. Dr. Mader said he was pleased with Luie's progress. I was thinking he was about the same but he said that's because I see him everyday and he hasn't seen him in a month and could see some improvement. He wants to see him back in 4 to 6 weeks for a recheck.

I'm so glad to hear that Luie is continuing to get better! Thanks for the update on your sweet little guy!

YAY! I'm glad you got some good news! It's very true that if you see something or someone every day you can't really notice gradual changes.

Thanks allot ladies. It does make me feel better to hear Dr. Mader say he can see that Luie has improved. My husband went with me and was impress with all of Dr. Mader's knowledge. We both learned allot in the little bit of time that we spent with him. I am so very fortunate to have a vet like him within driving distance. I'm trying to talk my husband into moving closer to him.

Sounds like a good vet visit, I'm sure Luie doesn't just look impressive - he's a trooper too :)

So happy to hear that Luie is doing better and showing improvement. With your team of chameleon vets, and the love and dedication you have for your chams, I would expect nothing less! :)
