Update on Luie’s Health Issues

I'm so glad to hear you got good news at the vet today Jann! You have had more than enough heartbreak lately... am really happy that Louie is getting better. Louie couldn't have asked for a better Mom to take care of him, you really go above and beyond. :)

Thank you so much everyone. Luie seems more active today. He has been trying over and over to get off his free range so I put him on the floor and he sure got his exercise. :) It makes me feel good to see him feeling better.

Jann, that's wonderful news, to hear that Luie is wanting to roam about!!!!!! Also glad that he got a good report from the doctor!!!!!!

Thanks everyone. Luie has been more active since we got home from the vet. Maybe he enjoyed the trip. :)

Dr. Mader took the two bumps off Luie mouth, one on each side. They were both abscessed and I have an antibiotic ointment to put on them. He also took the scab back off where the incision on his chin was from the biopsy and it still had the puss stuff in it. He flushed it and wants us to continue to flush it everyday until I bring him back in 4 to 6 weeks. It's going to be hard for me to do by myself when my husband's gone to Maddy. I might have to get my neighbor to hold him. When I take him back if that area is still infected he's going to have to remove the bone and then Luie will look like he forgot to put in his false teeth. I will still love him though of course.

I hope he feels better soon :) I'm sure he knows you'll still love him no matter how many bits the Dr. takes from him.. even if her looks like a raisin! Good Luck Jann :)

Sooo glad to hear more good news on his progress! Just curious, Jann, on his x-rays it lists him as Luie E. What does the E. stand for?

Thank you everyone for asking and caring about Luie. He is doing much better, by no means 100% but much better. We only have to flush his incision hole every other day now and he's still on the Cipro and Metacam. My husband fixed him a ramp down from his free range and he going everywhere.....all over the house.

Jackie, I have on idea what the E means.

I have a couple photos from the other day. In the second one you can see his incision hole that we have to flush.

Thanks for the update. It's good to hear he is doing better. He is a handsome boy . Lovely colours.:)

He's such a stately man! I love how his eyes are so bright and alert - he's looking great and his incision hole looks like its healing really, really well. You are so diligent in your care of ALL your chams Jann, you never cease to impress me with your love of chameleons. Luie is so lucky to have you (and vice versa!) ;)

come on Mr. Luie, continue improving so your mama can feel good about going on her trip!!!!!
I, Stanley and all are pulling for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Sorry to hear your cham is ill - we have a "special needs" cham, who has to be hand-fed every day...
The coloring of your Luie is fantastic though!

Any new answers?
