So my boy is doing a little better. He can move his legs now but is not strong enough to walk. He can drag himself if he really wants to get some where. he is now sleeping on a baby's washcloth so he isn't in the dirt since it makes him cold. He prefers to be warmer then the other one and he drags himself under the heat lamp and stays there all day. The basking spot is about 87 degrees while the rest of the cage is about 80-82. He is bright green all the time now and no longer black. If I drop the temp a few degrees he turns black and lays on his side like he is dying. So conventional wisdom aside I am keeping the temp up and not dropping the temp at night. My little one can move to where it is cooler if she wants.
If I pull his dewlap down and put a cricket in his mouth he will willingly eat it and a few meal worms. He still can't catch his food but he does follow it with his eyes. He will drink in the same manner, I open and put a drop in and he will open a few more times and take a few more drops. He still has not pooped but his system isn't working very well and I assume he needs every ounce of energy just to keep breathing.
He is still critical but I do see some small improvements. He is getting calcium glucanate .3/day as well as repti aid .3/day. I have no idea how much to feed him. The little female is a pig and eats 10 - 15 small crickets a day and she is only as long as my pinky finger. I did find a leap hopper and a tiny spider yesterday and fed those to my little cham. I have never been so excited to see bugs come in my house! Does anyone feed red worms? I have hundreds and could give my boy one chopped up. I am looking for calci worms but we don't have them at my store, I am trying to order them though.
I am going to try and find another vet on monday.
One other question my little female sleeps upside down directly under the UVB light like literally 2 inches from it for all 12 hours it is on. If I move her she goes right back up. I have heard this is dangerous but my brain tells me she needs this or she would move. She does come down to eat but other wise it is under the light. Thoughts??
Thanks everyone for your help. Please keep your fingers crossed!
