Ranger my 4 month Ambilobe Panther Chameleon, I got yesterday is doing a lot better! He is traveling around a lot more, but still likes to be at the bottom of the cage usually, hunting for Cricket's around in his cage like a champion, but I do have a couple of questions:
He has some dark spotted coloring, it is usually when I see him in the morning before I go to school, and after I get home and sometimes after a while when I check on him. He is usually really still when he looks like this.
After I see him with that coloring, I check the humidity and mist his cage for about a good 30-45 seconds he then get's a lot brighter in color, and more active around in his cage.
Is that just a sign that his cage needs to be misted, or did I just interrupt a relaxing thing? Or could that be his potential coloring when he gets older?
Also when he hunts for Cricket's he holds them in his mouth for about a minuet before eating them, is that normal? They are about 3/4 inch and 1/4 inch crickets, I make sure that the ones I pick out for him are easy for him to swallow.
Let me know if all of this is perfectly normal for a new arrival. Me and Ranger thank you in advance.
