Because that tank is not very tall, I would make sure the the basking bulb doesn't make the tank too hot. In other words, the basking site may be ok, but there may not be enough of a gradient at the bottom.
Well, if you have a temp gun, or some sort or themometer, test the temps. I'm not sure what species you have because those pics are blurry, but I would recomend a low wattage bulb, like a 25, and put the basking spot right under it. Or you could raise the fixture up off the top of your tank until the temps are right. You just want to make sure he can get away from the heat if he wants.
