Used mistking?

Hey guys, I apologize for not posting this in the wanted section of the classified forum, my account isn't advanced enough so I can't yet. I am new the the chameleon community and have spent countless hours researching. My uncle has a cham and after seeing his there was no doubt I needed to have one of my own. I got his old setup since his cham is a year old and moving into a 24X24X48. After countless hours of research I want to ensure my cham get the best setup possible. I keep hearing about mistking but they are rather expensive. I'm a college student so money isn't quite flowing as much as I would like it to just bc of bills and expenses. Does anyone have a used mistking that they are willing to sell for a decent price? If not a mistking I am open to other misting systems. Please help a new chameleon lover out :)

Good ol fashion hand mistings is probably the cheapest route - but you really do get what you pay for as far as misting systems go.

I don't want to deter you or anything, but I just got my first cham in June last year, and he's already cost me upwards of $2000 in supplies ( not just misting lol). Unfortunately some of it was spent on things I thought I was getting a deal on, but later on had to replace, redo, or add.

Chameleons are awesome, and it's totally worth every penny. Setting up the enclosure is one of the best parts of it all. :) Take the time, even if you have to get one piece at a time, you'll be happy you did.

While you wait to find a mistking, a cheap water solution is to get a gallon
size plastic jug and poke several pin holes in the bottom, and place it on top
of the cage.
It will drip like rain for hours.

My first cham set-up, I was on a tight budget, and it took a few months to gather everything
I needed, just buying one thing at a time, as I could afford it.
When I was finished I used a tax refund to buy my first cham :)

It really comes down to a Mistking or Aquazamp mister/raindome. You can also find people who like the Monsoon systems but they also get a lot of hate around here. Hand misting is the cheapest but not as effective since you always need to be misting them every few hours and with some peoples work/school schedules thats not always possible.

The Mistkings and Aquazamps will probably set you back a little but its worth it for the long term investment into your chameleon and future reptiles. I spent I think 180 shipped for my Aquazamp raindome setup with everything and I cant get enough of it.

Also, when hand misting, you need to continue spraying for at least 1 minute
before the cham will finally respond.
Remember, you are trying to mimic the conditions in the wild, a few squirts
of the mister is not going to do it.

If you only have one cham, no problem, when you have several, you really
need an automated misting system.
