Using dog calcium supplement for chameleons

Has anyone heard of doing this? There is a reptile owner with many years of experience recommended that I use a specific brand of dog calcium supplement for my chameleon. (don't remember name of brand). He stated that many gecko and bearded dragon breeders use the brand of calcium to dust their food. This particular calcium doesn't have vit d3 or phosphorus.

if its just a calcium powder (and nothing else), it doesnt really matter what it was marketed for. Calcium is just a mineral, no matter what package its put into. You may find the dog powder isnt as fine as those meant for dusting insects.
