UVB lighting question

I currently have an 18" reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb on my cage along with a basking regular bulb. I just ordered a new 18" fixture that comes with a Reptile Desert 7% UVB Daylight fluorescent lamp. Can i use that bulb that comes with that one or should i take it out and use the 5.0? Is the 7.0 too powerfull or will it be fine? I have a 2.5-3 month old panther. Thanks alot.

Those 18" desert sun 7.0 are ok , but they can have a short life. I would advise replacing that tube in 4 - 5 months to be safe, with a Zoomed 5.0 .

Also, be sure to remove the plastic lens over the tube, it filters the UVB.

Is that the slim-line fixture? I have many of those because they fit the cages well and look nice, but I have always immediately replaced them with Zoomed Reptisun 5.0's.

thanks..yes it is the slimline one. I think i will use the one that comes with it for a couple months then replace with the 5.0 Thanks again
