Im going to be gone 2 weekends in a row, one to go to Denver for 3 days and the other to El Paso for 3 days, I dont have anyone who can take care of my chameleon, and dont have a mist system or anything. He is a 3 year old male veiled chameleon, he has a big dripper, and a fogger, if i put in a lot of crickets im worried about them attacking him so any advice on how to handle this? Everyone I know who can feed him while I am gone are going with me on the trips and really am worried about what to do =(

You can't hire someone to take care of him? Or maybe a friend/family member can do it?

It would be wise to invest in a mister.

You need to get a mister if you are going ot be gone that long.

he can go that many days with out food, seeing as hes a full grown adult, esp if you feed him well the day before.

but he cant go that long without water.

either buy an auto mist system, or hire someone.

Ill look into if I can find anyone that I can hire to watch him, im away in school in New Mexico so no one in my family can take care of him. If all else fails I know someone that works at petsmart that could hopefully take care of him for the weekend. Thanks for the input =)

I can tell you first hand - DO NOT TRUST A DRIPPER - I also went away, and I DID have someone watching all my chams - they misunderstood how the drippers worked, and it cost the lives of many of my chams - call your vet also, they can watch , or maybe refer someone - please do not just leave him - as the others said, food is not the issue - but no water if your dripper fails, can kill him -

You would need a petsitter. I would definitely get someone in a few times and train them before you go. There's just to much that can go wrong with these animals.

check out rescue groups, one near where I live they offer babysitting. I am going to use them when I am out of town. Are you in SoCal?

im in socal right now but I will be back in school in NM when this is happening which is why my family couldnt baby sit, thankfully my best friends little brother will be watching her cat at the house we are staying at and he is willing to baby sit my boy for me =D I just need to give him detailed directions on how and what to do next to the cage to be on the safe side.

Some higher quality vets will board your little critter for you for a short period. If you have an easy cage that transports, say a Reptibreeze 18x18x36" with lights that you could leave there would help. Just call around and look for established places. Ask about their interns as well as their vets. Chances are, someone there will have experience. You should have a good chance of success wirth this. Good luck.
