Veiled ambient temps

Hi guys (and gals ) I recently moved my veiled cham Tim (about 6 months old) into his adult cage.he was bright green and yellow before I over him in and after I did he's dark brown. My question is this what should his ambient temp be ?
Currently running at about 60-62 in the middle 55-59 at the bottom and a basking of 87-90 but a little lower where he likes to hang out it at 85.

As well his cage doesn't have much green plant life in it mostly sticks and stocks of various dead plants but there are a few places that are completely hidden and not viewable so that I he wanted to hid he could. He has been exploring his cage a lot.

So I guess what I'm really asking is "why is he so dark when he was bright and happy?"

Thanks for any help I k own there's a lot of variables but maybe some one can reasure me that he is fine and this is normal.

He's probably going to need some time to adjust to the new cage and claim the space as his own, but also your ambient temperatures sound rather cool. For a juvenile Veiled I think you want ambient temperature to be closer to the mid-70s according to the care sheet I read.

He could be dark for a number of reasons but the two that I think are most likely are that he's on guard because he's in a new territory and the areas away from the basking area are too low. Just my opinion.
The majority of the cage should be in the mid to high 70's.

I was thinking along the same lines as kinyonga is there anyway you can get that ambient temp up to the low seventies. You could bring up his basking a little if you have to.

Move the basking spot to the middle of the cage. This can be done pretty easy if you are using a clip light on the outside of a screen cage, angle the light to point into and to the bottom of the cage basking spot will be in the middle to one side of the cage.
