Veiled Chameleon Behavior

Hey everyone! So I don't really understand this so I was seeing if y'all could explain! I have a 5-6 month old veiled cham he's pretty content in his cage but is a little stressed bc I cleaned it up and rearranged everything, but for the most part he's good! When it comes to anyone really getting near him he gets real dark and puffs up and tries to run away from them. Never hisses though, but for some reason when I go to his cage to feed refill his mister etc. He calms down and doesn't puff up or anything or if I open up his cage he sometimes wants me to hold him. Should I be worried?! Lol!

No need to be worried. Totally normal. Chameleons don't love us, but I do think they grow to learn who takes care of them and who spends the most time with them. My panther chameleon, Neptune, will only let me hold him, and will freak out if anyone else even tries. But I've spent almost two years working with him on a daily basis. They grow to trust us.

Here's a video on defense behavior. Sounds like that's what your cham is doing to people besides you.
