i have a female Veiled Chameleon about 6-7 mouths old and she is always green in colour can someone tell me when she will start to change colour thanx

Females don't really get colorful, except when gravid or receptive. Or happy, or sad. But, for the most part, stay green.

It really depends. I've seen chameleons get nice color around 6 months, others get it around 10-12.

But yeah, females aren't exactly the most colorful.

They can be very pretty - Lily shows these colours all the time - they just change intensity when she's receptive (which she is in this pic). Her brown splodges were almost yellow today! I know someone on here has a female panther with blue spots on her face (can't remember who it is though)!

I can't upload the same pic twice so here's a link to the picture of Lily.

Lily's so beautiful!!!!!! She reminds me so much og Camille.

Aww! Thanks Jann! Lily and Camille do look alike. I think Lily is totally beautiful - but I would though cos she's mine!!:p She's also got a beautiful personality too.

So I shouldn't be worried if Fred looks completely dull and brown? The only time he changes colors is when he's asleep. Right now he's just so blah. :( He's between 5-6 months.

Leid, you just altered his cage, he needs time to get used to it, once he does, he should be fine.

Don't worry......he'll get color when he's older.

I disagree when people say veiled females aren't that colorful.

To OP,
You should see the orange and blue spots in a couple of months. Our veiled girl has been stuck with those colors since she was 10 months old. She was never mated. She's 2 years old now and laid 5-6 infertile clutches.

Linkin

Yeah you'd figure that, but he was brown when we bought him too. He was brown in his cage at the pet store.

Beautiful veileds!!!!! Love them!!!!!! Jann

Beautiful Cham. Just wondering what made her go black? Looks great but weird :)

That's their gravid colouration. Sometimes they show those colours all the time when gravid, and sometimes just when they see the male. Lily has never showed those colours even when gravid, although I briefly saw her go very dark when she was laying.

yeah my guy just kinda sits as green, and sometime he gets a pretty turquoise. i hope he get some beautiful colors soon

is there any way to get them to be different colours like different plant types to put in and also i have a 6 month male....when should he start to change.... i only see dark colours when hes at the bottom of cage pooping..... i read that just means hes cold...other then that always green no lines or nothing.
