My friend has a female veiled chameleon who's a little over a year old now. Just recently he added an egg laying bin for her but it doesn't seem that she's using it. He put the bin (which has a clean sand and ecoearth mix) in the vivarium and set up branches so she could easily get in our out. Also he put a towel over the cage so she doesn't get disturbed and has only been using his room the past couple of days to grab fresh clothes. However, towards the ends of the day he checks the egg bin without even a trace of her going in it. Any suggestions of what he should do so his chameleon doesn't get sick? Or perhaps anything he's doing wrong? PS: this is NOT my chameleon or my set up! I'm just the messenger! I know his cage is bare.
