I have a female veiled that is approximately a year old . She hasnt ate anything in 6 days . I usually feed her 10 of the small crickets every other day . I dust them every other week with calcium + d3 . And dust with reptivite on alternate weeks . I gutload with kale and cricket feed .I hand spray her cage twice a day for a few minutes and have a dripper .Her fecies is almost totally white . She has never had any other problems . She is in a 24 x 24 x48 screened habitat . I use a 90 watt incandescent for heat and have a UV light (not sure what brand ) . I leave them both on 12 hrs . during the daytime 5am to 5 pm . Her basking spot is in the mid to lower 80's . It gets down to about 65 at night . The humidity is about 60 . I have a live shiffelera in her cage . She doesnt eat on the plants leaves . She has also been a little darker than normal and seems a little sluggish . Should I be very worried or does this happen occasionally ? Any help is appreciated .

At that age, she is most likely gravid. As far as I know, veiled females over 6 months of age should always have access to an egg-laying box. Wait for the experts to chime in, though.

Be sure to check the resources on laying bins sure to be some good info there.and if I'm not mistaken I think jannb has a blog on setting them up.good luck with the egg laying

Hope she lays eggs soon! They can sometimes dig a few times before doing so. Make sure to give her lots of privacy. Make sure to get her re-hydrated after laying! Maybe a juicy hornworm would do the trick! Best of luck to your little girl ;)!

Its good to hear hat she is digging!

Don't let her see you watching her while she is digging. It can make her abandon the hole and if it happens often enough it can lead to egg binding.

She might dig several holes but should settle on one eventually and dig it until she is content with it. It can take several days..but doesn't always. Once the hole is dug she should turn around butt down (usually in the evening) and lay he eggs, fill in the hole and tamp it down and return to the branches.

Thank you all for the helpful info . I am going to try to find horn worms for her . I don't think anyone sells them locally . I will probably have to get them online .
