very dark female chameleon

Deff a female. My female does the same colors when she is running across the grass trying to get to a diff tree. In my experience she turns those colors when irritated. If u let your Cham soak up some natural sun I'm sure she will show you some crazy colors

I have tried everything you have said and she is still brown...she turned a little yellow last night whilst sleeping...should I put a heat mat on the side of her viv inside to keep it warm as she only has a basking lamp which is set at 82f I have put some pictures on..maybe she is blending in with background....:)

I would worrie to much but it may be down to air flow, the air will get hot and stagnant in that viv so your Cham won't be able to escape for fresh cool air, most people use mesh vivs for that reason.i would drill some holes out get some more vents in there towards the bottom of the viv and perhaps try putting a live plant it there, ficus or pothos are a good hardy plant for chams to be able to go about there daily business

Also remove the substrate from the bottom. We cannot stress enough about using nothing in the bottom of the cages. Sometimes they will eat things intentionally or accidentally by shooting for prey, water droplet. If your chameleons eats the mulch chips she will more than likely become impacted.

Also with good air flow it will help the viv to dry out a lot better between misting, this is a must because if it's constantly damp and with a lack of air flow your chameleon will most probly develop problems with there lungs( breathing etc...) and with using a wooden viv you might develop mold in there and yes no bedding is really a must,if your Cham try's to eat and pulls back substrait it can be fatal, I've leant this the hard way with a baby jacksons I had a few years back with died on me, not a good feeling at all

do yo have plants and hiding spots for her , and the photo show no lumps on her feet, colors do look a little stressed , just give her time and dont handle her to much at first ,when you see her belly looking fat and crawling around a lot at the bottem of the cage she will need the sand bucket, good luck.
