Vitamins?

Yes but look under the navigation panel for Care Resources, vitimins and calcium are essintial but proper doseing is critical. Read the whole thing not just food and nutrition, unless you get everything right your guranteed to have problems.

Yes, a multi vitamin should be used at least 2 times a month for a veiled. D3 should also be given a few times a month (the actual number depends on the brand you have and how often the chameleon receives natural sunlight.) Some brands of D3 calcium can be used at every feeding while others shouldn't be used more than 2 times a month. If you post the brand, we can help give a good starting point that you can adjust as you see fit for your circumstances.

I'd like to take you up on that. :)

I've been using Tetrafauna ReptoCal for years now. Label says it includes Calcium with D3 and should be used once - twice a week. After reading a lot of info on this site about D3 overdosing, i'm getting a little worried even though i haven't seen any signs of issues with this dose.:(

I'm unfamiliar with that brand. Can you post the guaranteed analysis? Is it just calcium or a multivitamin as well?

what amount of D3, retinol, etc is in it per gram or kg or per pound? For example, does it say something like Vitamin A: 219,900 IU/kg or 200,000 IU/lb?

If it doesn't say, Id call the company or buy a brand that clearly identifies what is in the product, so you can then use it with a frequency that matches your animals needs.
For my panthers and veiled, I personally use a vitamin free calcium (Mineral-o) most days, with a calcium plus vitamins product about once a week that has about 200,000 IU/lb Vitamin A, and 20,000 IU/lb for vitamin D.

You may find this blog entry useful as a comparison, as it lists all the details of what is in many commonly used brands:

and I'd love it if you'd add a comment with the details of what is in your brand (the full details)

Hey sandra,

Here's all the info i could gather about it:

Feeding Guide:
Use only one to two times per week. For live foods, place a small amount of ReptoCal into a bag or container with food items and shake gently to create a dusting. For prepared or fresh vegetation diets, sprinkle over the foods. To promote adherence to food, a little moisture or misting is beneficial.
Ingredients:
Calcium Carbonate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium Hydroxide, Dried Yeast, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Inositol, Nicotinic Acid, A-Tocopherol Acetate, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin-5-Phosphate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin A Palmitate, Folic Acid, P-Aminobenzoic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex, Cholecalciferol, Biotin, and Cyanocobalamin.

Hi
thanks for those details!
You could use that product 3 or 5 times a month, so the advice of once a week was totally fine. The rest of the time, go with a vitamin free, phosphorous free, calcium /mineral supplement, as needed (depends on the feeder prey type, how you gutload).
