Waking a sleeping chameleon

I was fixing Larry’s cage while he hung out on his vine outside of cage. He’s currently sleeping. My question is can you wake him so I can put him in the cage or do I let him sleep on the vine till morning??

He shouldn’t mind being moved! A friend of mine has a panther that notoriously falls asleep on his free range set up during the evenings.
She just scoops him up and puts him back in his enclosure :)

I let him be last night. When I looked at him he looked so peaceful. Thanks for the advice. I just didn’t want to risk hurting him or over stress him

I woke my one panther trying to get him back in his enclosure last year. He proceeded to bite the hell out of me. Not just a nip, but got in between my fingers as hard as he could and was thrashing for a good 30 seconds, I thought for sure he was going to get a chunk out of me. I had the V shaped bite teeth marks for a week after that lol. Was all my fault though, I startled him in the dark while he was asleep, don't blame him at all for it.

That’s exactly what I didn’t want to happen last night. I hate being woken up, so I gave him the same courtesy
