I'd call the local grocery store bakery dept - I bet they throw them away by the dozens on a daily basis.

Thats a good idea..but the bakeries I have called locally all use PREMADE (aka walmart and food lion)...

Try paper towel rolls

I line up paper towel rolls on the bottom of the aquarium with the heater underneath the glass. They love to hide in there. Plus you can just shake the tube into a cup and pick out what you want to feed. Then I put egg crate or McD's cup holders layered on top of that. Hope that helps

I'm going to buy one of those plastic bins from target for $5 tonight or tomorrow so I think the heat pad is out of the question I might have some left over from my crickets that I haven't used I have to check tonight.

can you put a heating pad under the rubber,aid tubs or is that strictly aquarium? I get mine tomorrow. I went ALL over town today trying to find stupid egg cartons. Thought maybe farming store like TSC or Rural king..they had foam but no cardboard ones..and the store wants 2.89 for a carton of eggs with one! Sigh.. Yea, someone recommended like waffle house but I dont see them taking the best care of them and would be afraid what they would be covered in..(My hubby is a HUGE fan of waffle house..ick). Im going with the paper towel rolls and i happen to have a mcd cup holder in my car. Wahoo!

Not sure but the zoomed heat pad I have gets pretty hot so I think it would burn through the bin over time and think it's only mad for glass aquarium.

If you need them today, how about rolling up some paper or newsprint into a tube, put some tape on it to hold it, then put them in your roach container. That ought to last you until you can get something else.
