There's a type of snail in the aquatics at my pet store, they suction cup to the glass and breed like CRAZY. Does anyone know if they're feedable to chams? I can find out the exact name next time I go.

I know what ur talking about there called mystery snails.. unfortunately I also have the same question...

lol as usual my suggestion is wait for sandra to weigh in on this one i belive some snails are ok but as far as a remember they are more of a garden snail not and aquatic one somehow i imagine do to them being in water would cause toxins to build up in ther bodies but thats just a thought

i grab pond snails out of the large puddles and feed them to geckos no problem, never thought to give them to my chameleons though. most chameleons prefer moving, jumping, flying prey even Though snails are a good source of calcium.

I know for sure that freshwater snails are carriers of at least trematodes and I would guess other parasites as well.

would you drink your aquarium water? Would you mist your chameleon with aquarium water? By feeding the aquatic snails you are exposing them to everything in that aquarium. If you think your aquarium water is safe go for it, I for one wouldn't give any aquatic feeders to an arboreal species that has ever had any evolutionary pressure to gain a natural tolerance for anything in freshwater.
