Waxworms are like candy, and should be given in small quantities, chameleons can become "addicted" and not want to eat anything else for a while if they eat too many. When i feed my chameleons waxworms i do it after theyve eaten their regular meal, and i usually do 1 waxworm a day (sometimes every other day)

For questions about feeders you can click on the forums button in the green box at the top of each page. There is a forum for chameleon food. You can find out all the information you need there. There is another thread currently going on about the same thing. People don't mind answering questions, but check out all the stickys first. A sticky is the first entry on the thread that you choose.

Waxworms are little bags of fat. One a day, even one every other day, is far too much. There is no benefit to giving these to normal adult healthy chameleons. Might be useful as a supplement to a chameleon that needs to gain weight after an illness. But frankly, I'd say NONE is the best amount of waxworms to give a chameleon. Mine get them maybe once a year.

If you want to treat your chameleon, give it
a butterworm (still fatty, but at least some calcium and other nutrients present)
a hornworm
a cabbage worm
