Are wax worms a good feeder for a juvenile veiled cham? How do they compare to other feeders as far as nutritional value? Also, do they need to be gutloaded?

they suck... no good. stick to crickets, dubia, silkworms, hoppers, stickbugs, hornworms, butterworms, superworms.

IMO - waxworms are pointless. variety is in the gutload my friend, waxworms offer nothing but candy for ur growing boy... why do that.

Easy Brian.... I don't know if I would call them a total loss...

They should be classified as "treats" and or "pick-me ups" based on their nutritional values. They are high in fat, around 20-21%, which is why they should be offered in limited numbers. I offer them to my chams once or twice a month. They are also popular when rehabilatating malnourished chameleons.

They have thier place on my feeder list.

I use waxwroms, freshly fed on bee pollen for just that... a form of natural medicine. I coat them in vitamines and let my guys have their "ice cream." when they seem down or stressed by weather changes.
