Ways to keep Temps up

I didn't really account for the temp situation when it came to my AC being on. Warmer weather is here, so the AC went on, and i noticed his temps were lower. Ive read that a good idea is to put shower curtain plastic on the sides to keep the temps good n the cold air out. MY Question, how many sides should i cover? Also, are the other/better alternatives ?

Give is a little more info,

What were your temps? day/night
What are they now? day/night
What are you using to measure temps?
What species of Cham?
Enclosure location in house?

temps were in the lower 90s in the basking spot, lower cage area was mid 80s
I have a 4 or 5 month old veiled
temps don't seem to be getting over 88 in the basking spot now
i live in NYC. In a 3 bedroom apartment. Its in an open area, where the AC hits everywhere.

i will start by saying IM NO EXPERT!

that said... from what i've learned here, cage should not be anywhere where the a/c vents face. secondly, yes many ppl on here recomend a tarp, or shower curtain covering 2-3 parts of the cage. (my shower curtain covers more than half of both sides and the full back side of enclosure.) i have it to help with humidity, but i dont see why it wouldnt work for temps and drainage too.

For a baby veiled like yours, a basking spot of mid 90's is high. 88 is fine. The coolest part of the cage should be no lower than 70. If that's the case - you're good.

Try not to keep the cage right next to a cold air vent, or the actual unit (I don't know if you have central air or not). If you keep the cage in an area that gets direct sunlight for part of the day, he'll stay a little warmer than the rest of the room.

Guess I overreacted a bit. Temps, lately, have been what your saying. And he is (don't wanna jinx it) as healthy as a ________, so.
