Weak and sleepy veiled chameleon

hi. We have a 4 year old veiled chameleon called Fred. We have found him on the floor of his viv a couple of times over the last week but the ought nothing of it as he seemed fine. Tonight I found him on the floor again. I picked him up & he curled up in my hand. I took him to my husband & he curled up with him & went to sleep. This is very unlike Fred. He doesn't like being handled by anyone but my husband & normally hisses with his mouth open epically when I'm around. He is still bright coloured but seems very weak & sleepy. Please help

Has anything changed in his setup lately...temperatures, etc? Have there been any other changes in his husbandry?? What specific supplements have you been using and how often for each?

We recently moved him into a different room. And there is a turtle tank in there that has a noisy pump, could it be that?
His temps etc & all the same as they always have been. I have no idea about feeding, my husband does all that, I know he eats hoppers ....

Are your uvb bulbs older or are they fairly new? Do you dust his food with calcium as well during every feeding?

His uvb bulb is due to be changed. Could that b causing a problem? Yea we use the calcium dust

Change the bulb yeah it may not be causing the problem but veiled chameleons can get MBD without proper lighting and dusting. I would recommend changing the uvb bulb asap and increasing his misting times with some warm water throughout the day. The bulb change alone could actually make a huge difference.

Thank u so much. We will get a new bulb tomorrow. Do U think the noise of the pump could be a problem?

Please answer the questions in the how to ask for help thread at the top of the health forum. Maybe something here will give a clue.

No the noise is not the problem unless it vibrates his cage. Chameleons can't hear but they can sense vibration so if the pump were on a table next to his cage and it constantly vibrated it then yes that could be the issue. I got a chameleon cantina fountain and it vibrated too much and terrified my chameleon so much I had to return it.
