Weird coloration/ hollow section on veiled casque

hi guys!

My little guy shed earlier last week (still has a tiny bit to do) and I noticed over the last few days something weird happening to his casque. The tip doesn't change color, he could be a dark brown and this spot stays a bright green (also happens in a small spot on the ridge of his back right behind his casque). It's very hollow in the discolored spot and I can see through it whenever he's sitting below his basking light. It seems to be slightly thicker (buldged out a tiny bit on the sides) where the spot on his casque is as well. Right after he shed his casque there was a green stripe but it didn't worry me until now, as his color patterns change a little bit each time he sheds. But over the week it changed and he now has these strange spots. The shape of the spot is slightly different (the right side seems to be bigger, the left is smaller). Not sure if anyone else has seen this happen and can offer some insight?

The only change in behavior that I have noticed is his decrease in appetite. He usually runs to his bowl as soon as I give him his crickets, or will come right up to me when its time to hand feed him meal worms. But over the last few days he has been eating them slowly (or not at all) over the course of the day and refuses to eat out of my hand.

Here are some pictures (and a little more info at the bottom)

- He is 9 months old
-cage is about 74-82 Fahrenheit during the day and will fall to the low 70's at night time
-his diet consists of crickets (dusted with calcium w/out D3, calcium w/ D3 once every 2 weeks, and a vitamin dust every now and then) and meal worms

Thank you in advance for replies!
