What Color Are My Bars?

So Merlot as you all know is a Ankaramy x BBAmbilobe and so far his bars have stayed red....until I took him outside today and it seems his bars are purple? Could this be?

I don't know...but he's gorgeous! Love the name! They appear burgundy/plum colored to me.

One of my oddballs had red bars, then purple/blue bars, and finally adjusted to the typical blue of his brothers. He was slow thru puberty, apparently. Congrats on at least 1/2 an Ankaramy. They are my white whale. Always a dollar short and a day late on those. I want want one sooooo bad! How old is yours? Might help with the guessing. Show him a female and all bets are off!

My guy is about 8 9 months old so I'm not sure if what I see is what I'll get or if he still has time to change up on me...either way he is colorful but I'm hoping since Ankaramy panthers are late bloomers he is gonna surprise me later lol

You still got another 6-12 months of changing. Anything is possible now. Show him a female and that will give you an idea of his direction. Seriously, show him a lady. After he sees her, he should stay in color for 1-3 days. 1 day being the average. Then photo away.

He looks brighter and brighter every time I seem him.
I have a feeling his bars are gonna lighten up. Maybe a raspberry/pinkish color????

Pink bars would he awesome...looks like his body might turn yellow when fired up so pink on yellow would be so cool lol
