What happened?

To those of you that are in high school or that are in college or just out of college etc... Does it feel like it just went by way to fast?! I am getting requests from Iowa State University, University of North Dakota, and University of Minnesota (Minneapolis/St.Paul campus! :D ) and many more.. I am a Junior in High school and all, but what happened to freshman year!? What happened to recess etc. It literally flew by in a blink of an eye. I only have a year left, since I am graduating earlier than most.

Also have any of you attended Iowa State College? or the U of M? I am going for Architecture and Pre-Veterinary. Also going to take photography courses.

Zac

Yes Zac, I went to Iowa State. Ames is a nice place & depending on what you want for a major, it is a good school. They have a good vet school. My degree was social work, not to exciting. I job and I left the field to go into legal and compliance. If I can answer and specific questions let me know.

It's no joke when you say time flies as you get older. The 11 1/2 years I served in the navy flew by, now I have until April of 2012 until I finish my degree. Seems just like last week I started my degree.

I live in Iowa! I decided to not do anything with my life so I haven't gone to college but I have heard good things. Ames is about 2 hours from where I live. Seems like a decent place.

Oh boy, they keep emailing me and then re-emailing me making sure that I am getting their information. My uncle went there for an Engineer and now he owns a massive construction company in California. Makin' the big bucks! I'm leaning towards the U of M since it's not far from family right across the boarder in Wisconsin and my aunt and cousin in Minneapolis.

Any tips?

I still dont believe how fast time has gone by. I'm finishing my third semester at the University of Miami. Its insane!
you gotta take advantage of all opportunities that come by, cause you will not believe how incredibly fast they'll be gone and you'll miss out.

I plan on doing absolutely everything I can fit into my schedule! I am going to talk to them about keeping my chameleons with me, or they will stay with my mom or my aunt or cousin LOL and then I can care for them daily.

Look into internships as soon as you start. There are some huge opportunities that come from internships. Friends of mine have been offered jobs paying $60k+ as a starting salary with other benefits just because they have been interns. Thats a pretty good starting salary (that's just after the 4 years, not including masters or doctorates).

I plan to! I am going to take business classes, and I have my cousin's help throughout the years. She graduated from the U of M and is an interior designer. She had her four top bosses fired (not because of her) but they weren't up to the companies standards etc. She got that top job, got the rest of her schooling payed for then got another job offered to her by a better job and better pay and took it and got free schooling paid by her old employer.

Zac,
My two older boys are in college. They both complain all the time about how fast time goes. How they were just 12 and playing baseball.
One graduates from University of Ca, Irvine this June. He stayed close to home and went to Irvine. Living at home and going to school is a good deal if you can. You get to keep your pets, your stuff, your things, your space...It's cheaper too. For us it was.
Some might choose to get out and get the Dorm experience. My son wanted the quiet of home, he didn't want to commute to far either, and he didn't want to live on campus.(I like to think he didn't want to leave me.:)
Send out a few applications because you get to choose where you go by accepting. Don't send out one. If that one is denied, then your out with no backup plan. So no harm in applying. Then, when the letters come, talk over your options with your parents and make an informed decision that works for you.
Then enjoy your time cuz it will fly by at warp speed. Good luck!!!!

That's great. You'll have choices then. It makes a big difference when you go to plan the next 4 yrs of your life. It goes by fast but it's still 4 years.
