What happens to your pets when they die?

Everyone has a different opinion. Some say they go to heaven, some say a special animal heaven or nothing happens at all. What do you believe?

I think that when they die, all their molecules will dissipate and go through the ground and up into the trees where they always loved to be. It would provide life for other things to live and that is beautiful in itself.

As far as their soul? Their personality? Im not sure what I believe but at least it all lives on in memories.

So what do you think happens when they die? And what is your favorite memory of your passed pets?

Syn is correct that these things shouldn't be discussed here BUT allot of member refer to the Rainbow Bridge when a beloved pet is lost.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All of the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those that were maimed, hurt or neglected are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing – they each miss someone very special. Someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their eyes are intent, their eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, they break from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . .

what happens to pets when they die? A few things can happen. Some on here put their chams in a freezer bag and freeze them. This is so they can bring them to the vet to see what happened. Others end up in a box on a little hole in the backyard. The last thing that happens and it bugs me is they just get tossed in the trash. Thats what happens when pets die...

In most states it is illegal to bury an animal in your yard. But most people do it anyways.

Pah, it's one of those laws that no one enforces. No one is going to make you bury up your hamster if they find out.

haha that hole "lemmy google it for you is swwweeet!".....but yeah freezer / box/ hole + death. i advise going to vets to find out what happend so you can fix your mistake.( if it was ur fualt)

I have not lost a cham yet to death.....I lost 3 rescues that returned healthy to their owner and that made me teary eyed :(

I have lost dogs, cats, birds and horses that have been life long companions and have cried for days/weeks and felt the emptiness of their presence for months. I dread losing a cham and even though its a part of life that ultimately happens I am going to have a hard time filling the space. They are all different and have their own different character.

Spiny Frank why are you calling Jannb a jerk and why?? I hope I am seeing a confusion in cultures/languages and you are just joshing ;)

The Rainbow Bridge poem always makes me teary eyed :/

It was a total joke mate. Janb is not a jerk in any way or means - she is actually quite awesome.

The "jerk" comment was for making me teary eyed.

Heheheh.

Well I am a very girly girly.....so I have an excuse to cry at any excuse and the Rainbow Bridge does that :p

My Mum had me on a horse before I could walk and I had horses ever since. I have lost 3 to illness and old age....every animal that walks into your life I believe is unique and irreplaceable :)

A strange question...suppose you bury your pet's body in the backyard and many years later you find out that the house is going to be torn down and a bigger one built there that will result in your pet's body being dug up...what do you do?? Let it happen or what??

If only we could own horses in my town.... if only.

I rode horses at... this park place when little. But they whipped them - and when i got old enough to understand it hurt the horses ( I was like 3 then people ) I never went again.

Still... horses, have a special place in my heart. As do chams and parrots and dogs and cats, and er... occasionally people.
