I have seen this little cham at my local shop out here in los angeles. The owner has let me put a deposit on what i assume is a her. just wondering what kind of pygmy this is. she will be my first pygmy and want to find a proper caresheet so I am able provide the proper husbandry for it. hope someone can lead me in the right direction. She is about 1inch maybe a little longer including the tail. was told that is the size it will stay so i am assuming a brookesia species. thanks ahead of time. sorry for the bad pictures. only ones i could snap before running out to catch the bus.

Thank you! So happy I can rely on this website for help. thank you for the caresheet ferret. i am excited to go and pick her up soon. The kid who worked there threw some crickets in, and this little girl went to town on them. it just blows my mind how tiny these little creatures are. ferretinmyshoes, is there a difference in care between any pygmy or is it generally the same?

There are about 50 species of pygmy chams (mostly from Madagascar, a number from east Africa and one from west Africa). They don't all live in the same kind of habitat, so in captivity they also need different temperatures and humidiy. Rieppeleon brevicaudatus and Rhampholeon temporalis are probably the two species that are sold the most. A small part of their natural distribution overlaps, so their care is (more or less) the same.
