What really is the difference?

Ok I admit it might be a silly question but what really is the difference between a reptiglo light and a reptisun light? I am in the process of upgrading the size of hood on Ichi's cage but I have a reptiglo light and I just don't know the difference between the two and I know I can't count on the petsmart or petco people telling me :) (no rudeness intended!) I want to make sure I get the right one for him.

the quality.
Reptisun provides more uvb than reptiglo and if you check using uvb meter, reptisun, I believe, still emit acceptable uvb even after 6 months.

All in all, just a better product 4 chameleons.

I think the buzz was that a Reptisun will provide more UVB than a reptiglo when new and after 6 month the retisun was providing more light than the reptiglo did when it was new. don't quote me on that being a fact, just something i heard.

SO reptisun is the one to go with....thanks

Yes, ReptiSun is the one to go with if you've got the choice. If you've already purchased at ReptiGlo, that's fine, just try for the RSun next time.

I copied this from a post Dave made in a recent thread on a similar topic:

Here's a table of D3 activity.

Note the Reptisun vs. Repti Glo being 439 vs. 151. Even a 1 year-old Reptisun 5.0 is 368.

Not all phosphors are create equal. Some do a much better job of creating vitamin D3 than others.
