what should i buy for my tank?

How big is it? a 36"H 18Dx18W is required, all screen, however, 1-4 mo. olds need a smaller cage.

Vines, Sticks, Live Plants, A laying bin (if a female) and thats basically it. NEVER use substrate waterfalls or water bowls.

That thermometer is horrible. buy a digital one.
Take the light out too.

Please do not buy a tank if we are talking about chameleons. Welcome and please give us a little more information about what you are intending to get, where you live, etc.

do you know a good website what sell them type of plants and about that light it a UV light i been told you need it?

looks like you could use some more sticks, vine and plant(s) in there. i would as before mentioned remove the waterbowl and light as well. chameleon wont drink from bowl. you gotta mist and they drink the drops off the leaves. for the bottom i just use paper towels and change them out daily.

Wal mart sells plants like Umbrellas, Pothos, Ficus, etc.

Yes you need a ReptiSun 5.0 Linear bulb... on the cage, not in it.

You need it, but not in the tank, on top of a screen top works fine. What kind of UVB bulb is it? Where do you live? Plants like hibiscus, ficus, and pothos can usually be found at any nursery.

plants- go to home depot/walmart/lowes/orchard supply etc. look for scheflera, ficus, pothos, hibiscus... there are a bunch of plants you can use.
and get a reptisun 5.0 linear tube uvb/uva light. they are pretty much the standard with chameleons. and for that size cage maybe a 40 - 60 watt house light might be about right for a basking area. not sure as i have all screen cage. the glass on yours might make a little bit of a difference...

im from england and that bowl is my misting rock. im not to sure on what type of light and etc is but my dad will know (hes at work now), and i got this tank with all the light etc for £210

if you keep the mister just put a screen over top of bowl to keep lizard out. and i not sure on currency exchange but sounds like good deal....

Make sure there is no substrate, you don't want the Cham to eat anyhing that isn't food or safe plant matter. A digital hydrometer and thermometer are in order. What kindof chameleon are you getting/do you have?

You need a bigger one though. Your in the UK so a glass terrarium will work. but 3 feet tall x 1.5x1.5 will be hard to find.

Well, a pound is about 2 dollars, so just double what he spent and that's what you would have spent in dollars.

Do you know what species of cham you will be getting? Some small species will do alright in a tank like this, especially in England where it can get pretty chilly. A bigger species will need more space, though. So be prepared to have to return it if it turns out your species needs more space. And since chameleons are really shy, plant cover is extremely important to them. Just buy plants like pothos, for example, and try to create a thickly "forested" environment for them.

You will want to put the lighting ontop of the cage and not in it so that the chameleon doesn't get burned by accident if he bumps into the bulb. Also, it helps to prevent accidents when spraying the chameleons with water. You don't want water coming into contact with a light fixture for obvious reasons.

i have one male veiled chameleon and it about 18-19 months old

its always cheaper at home depot or lowes, rather than a nursery
