What should I put at the bottom of my chameleon cage?

My chameleon cage is pretty big and has a plastic bottom but it’s so bland is there anything I could put? I’ve tried think reptile carpet but it got too dirty too fast anything else?

Paper towels are the safest option since chams tend to eat substrate accidentally. If you want a more aesthetically pleasing finish, I suggest you go bioctive.

Other than bioactive substrate, I would not put anything. Drill small holes for drainage and put a bin under to catch the water.
