Yea when I have my wax worms to long they cocoon just like that... Like identical. But I still wouldnt feed It

Its a butterfly. Keep it in a jar for a while, and it will emerge.

You would likely need an entomologist/lepidopterist to tell you exactly what kind.

Definitely keep it, whatever it is will probably be edible. I'm letting my waxworms pupate, figure the moths can't be any less nutritious than the worms and my Dragon adores the cocoons! He also loves mealworm cocoons.

deff a moth pupae, my mom and i found one identical, we tried to keep it but she accidentally left the jar in the sun and it cooked :/ then we dissected it, but everything was mush inside so we couldnt tell what it was...

I found at least 25 of these while digging a garden last weekend. They are in the dirt. We have grubs too so I thought they were japanese beetle cocoons or something.

its a waxmoth cacoon. i let my waxworms turn into them. fine to feed. clair has eaten some. they will move if you pick them up most of the time and hatch in 2-3weeks. sometimes sooner and all within a few days of eachother :)
