Hi,
Can someone help me with identifying what type of panther chameleons I have? There are so many varieties and I'm finding it really confusing to work out from online info!

To me they look like the ambilobe. Not ambanja or nosey b. The male definitely. A Rainbow or ybbb or rbbb. The female will be hard to tell I think. Where did you get them? They are beautiful!!

Aww thankyou.
I'm in Plymouth, UK, and bought them in stores. We now have babies and honestly, they're sooooo freaking cute!! I totally adore them all but dont have space to keep them. We weren't expecting any to hatch and have ended up with over 30!! Getting the eldest ones ready to move on but need to know what type/species they are. Baby pics below for cuteness overload! (now 4 months old, shown in the last pic) 🥰🥰

You can try to use this to narrow down the locale of your male. https://www.madcham.de/en/category/...ten/lokalformen-von-furcifer-pardalis/page/2/

But the issue is crossbreeding. Which since you do not know what your female's actual genetics are your babies would be cross locale more then likely. Then you have to take into consideration what the parentage is of both the parents. Potential they are actually both cross locales.

The only way to know for sure with a female is to know her genetics from the breeder. Females in the US are also proven out meaning... if they think the female is a Nosy Be then they mate her with a male Nosy Be. The babies are then held to see what the males show for their adult colors. If true Nosy Be then their colors will reflect that and the female is considered proven out to be a Nosy Be.

So you would not be able to sell them as a pure local because you have no genetic background on either. You need to represent them as a cross. So price point for people wanting them would be lower at least that is the way it works here unless you have an amazing rep as a breeder. Then people are buying them at higher rates due to the reputation of the breeder and the guarantee of a healthy baby.
