I have had my veiled chameleon for about 2 weeks now and i haven't seen her shed yet. She is roughly 2-3 months old. Is it possible that she shed while i was gone for a few hours?
I'm no pro but my little Jonny 5 shed for the first time last week. I feed him, went to store and returned to find skin all in bottom of cage and his colors seemed to be a little more brilliant next day. I hear they can shed very fast at times.
With the amount of skin my little guy shed I would believe there would be evidence left behind.
I will let someone with more experience chime in. Good luck!
I've had my Jackson's almost four months and he's shed twice, so about every 5-6 weeks. I'm not sure how long the time span was between his last shed with his old keeper and his first shed with me, but there was barely a month between sheds once he was In my care. My best guess is he's about a year old, and I know the shedding slows down the older they get. It also depends on growth spurts, hydration, nutrition and several other factors. Hope this helps some!
I've had a lot of Veileds. When they are young, they will shed frequently as they are growing. I feed my babies as much as they can eat, so they tend to grow pretty quickly which causes them to shed too. Most likely, she didn't shed over a few hours usually it takes a day or two before it's all off. Just wait patiently, she'll shed when she needs to.
