When will my male Panther colour up

hi everyone, I have a blue bar ambilobe x nosy mitsio that is 4.5 months old and almost 5.5 inches from head to tail. He is eating and drinking very well, but has not grown as much as I thought he would. I was wondering when I should expect to see some hints of colour as both his mother and father are beautiful. I got him in mid November and he was 3.5 inches. He has grown almost an inch in a week in a bit so I'm hopefull he'll start growing like a weed. I've tried feeding him silkworms, butter worms and hornworms but he just won't eat them, he will only eat crickets

Are you sure about his age? He seems a bit small for 4.5 months. Do you know his hatch date?
He looks like he's going to have some very cool markings, though. Be sure to post update pics!

Have you try to cup feeding him when he finished basking in the morning?and I do agree he is small for his age.

I was told he was 3 months when I got him Nov 18, they wrote his hatch date somewhere but I lost it. It was late August so he's not 4.5 months yet I guess

Yes he I tried putting crickets and worms in but he just picks of the crickets. If I try hand feeding he gets scared off the worm, even thought it's of appropriate size l.

Have you try to contact your breeder or the place you got him from and ask what type of the feeders they using for their chams??It should be some different. variety type of feeders on their diet!

He will start to get color whether you feed him worms or not. It is a natural process as they mature, Some are late bloomers and you just have to be patient! I remember one of my panthers being 5 months old and was grey with a little red here and there. He turned out to be beautiful!

Also, I have an Ambanja Panther chameleon who was super tiny. I actually named him PeeWee because of it! He ended up having parasites, but I doubt that is the case here. Sometimes some are just small when they are babies or juveniles and they eventually catch up. You can always take his poop in to a vet and have a fecal done if you are concerned of his size. This way you can rule out if parasites are stunting his growth.

Yes I agree with @carol5208,he could be a late bloomers,I am thinking if you can get him to eat more variety feeders,u @matthew1300 might turn that young handsome prince from a little froggy quicker

The same thing is happening with mine he only eats crickets. It's weird
