They have been out for quite sometime. There are other vendors but they charge way too much for half the worms that Coastal sells. I have not had any in over a month. I just keep waiting for them to become available again.

I was doing the same thing and finally decided to try and hatch them myself. Turns out that one of the owners of Coastal Silkworm is not far from my work in San Diego, so I just set it up to pickup from them. I'll let you know how my hatching endeavor goes...bit nervous!

I did the same thing after fruitless searches for live silkworms. Figured I could do it myself and have a new project! As an FYI: Mulberry has eggs right now, but not live worms, at least when I looked.
I have tried several times to hatch eggs, both purchased eggs and eggs were laid here. I can get them to hatch but can't seem to keep the babies alive. Not sure if I want to try again, it's a bit of a pain. My kids liked it until the moths all died.
I'll keep waiting and searching.
Bought from a couple other sources that were not too expensive but quality wasn't good, and now even they are out of stock!!
Ughhhh... back to roaches and crickets I suppose. Silkworms are so QUIET and SLOW!

There's one particular seller on ebay that posts them about once a week. They're not the cheapest, but may suffice until you find some from Coastal.

Keep an eye on his listings, he usually sells about 25 of them for around $17-$20.

I feel sorry for you guys. I get my eggs from coastal, if it takes over a week to get here they are already hatched. I just throw in some mulberry leaves and move on. I have never had to incubate or anything, just room temp cure 
PS: there is a sanitizer called starsan that works great. Just slosh in tub and let dry. When its time to get out the lovelies, just have a bowl of it near by, dunk hands in and grab some worms. Its perfectly edible.

My Coastal eggs have always hatched, even the ones I forgot were coming in the mail and left to cook in the mail box with the afternoon Texas sun beating down on it.
I haven't had any problem keeping them alive. The ones I hatched in the winter took a long time to hatch, but after several weeks, they all hatched.
I try to start the babies off on fresh mulberry leaves. I wonder if they are dehydrating on you? I've noticed the fresh leaves dry out a lot more quickly since the a/c has been turned on.
