Where do u get branches and vines?

I was wondering where you all get your branches do u think It would be ok to go outside get a couple of branches and clean them and than put them in the enclosure?

As long as no pesticides have been used in the area and it's away from traffic/roads, absolutely! Stay away from softwoods (pine, cedar, etc) and anything that is oozing sap, and you're good to go.

My enclosures all all bioactive. At most, I just hose them off, give them a quick scrub, and them pop them into place.

So jealous that you have access to manzanita, @salty dog !

I get mine the old fashioned way... I grow them. :LOL:
...Or from my local branch.

But seriously, I'm thinking seriously of using bamboo—possibly wrapped in jute (not twine) for better grip—seriously! Dowels are another option. If you want to use branches from outside, in general, hardwoods—good; softwoods—bad. I'd examine them for signs of parasites (holes or trails under the bark).

Vines—green & living or dead & wood-like? I haven't researched green & living yet, but for the latter, old growth grape vines are great. Best places I've found to get them are local vineyards (wineries).
