Galapagos or santa fe land iguana possibly.
Think you need full body inc tail to get an id on iguanas theres 36 species i believe

🤷‍♂️ Sources differ, ranging from 30-45, ant to me—very confusing. o_O

Google Image says it's a space lizard. :ROFLMAO:

Is it this?

The OP doesn't have the... jowls (don't know the correct term) typical of many iguana species.

Cant really tell off the original photo if the under chin saggy skin is just folded up or not & its my guess it is the Galapagos land iguana but could be wrong. possibly from a specific island so has a particular colour morph need to see claws really & tail as well as spines for a positive identification.

It may mean nothing, but compare the eyes (and smile) in the 2 photos. 👁️👁️
Not seeing anything much in those two features, but the you've brought my attention to the external ear aparture differing significantly.
So you could be right that i am wrongly suggesting its a Galapagos land iguana 👍

I wasn't suggesting you were wrong. On the contrary, I think you were correct. Scrolling down through the google image search, I found the pic I posted, which is a Galapagos land iguana.

Comparing the two pictures, the eyes & mouths (and now crest) look very similar to me.

Comparing with other pics of Galapagos land iguanas I think you hit the nail on the head. (y)
