Which to get

Alright, so I have finally talked my parents into allowing me to breed two different feeders for my cham when I get one. One will be Dubia for sure, and the other I'm trying to decide between snails and rollie pollies. Have you guys used these as feeders? Which does your cham like more? Which is better for them? Which are easier to breed? Would a veiled chameleon come across snails or rollie pollies in their natural habitat? Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jake

if you can, id suggest waxies/ silk worms as an additional feeder, if you succesfully breed/raise them.

i also suggest super worms.

Looks like silkworms are highly recommended, alright I suppose that's what I'll get then, anybody know the nutritional value of a silkworm?

Hey,

I'm interested to hear your results with rollie pollies. I'm going up to my parents' cottage this weekend, and I'm planning on grabbing some sow bugs (a similar isopod that doesn't curl up) and starting my own breeding program back in my apartment. I've read some good stuff about isopods as feeders in terms of nutrition, but I think their tough exoskeletons mean that they can't be a staple. Let me know if you decide to go with isopods, I'd be interested to hear your experiences.

Sure thing man, I'll try to remember to send you a PM about it, if I do indeed decide to go with rollie pollies, but from what I'm hearing dubias and silkworms seem to be the way to go.

Before you commit to Dubia's, buy some feeder sized ones and be sure your Cham will eat them. Some Chams ignore them!
