White patches on panther.. Burn marks?

photo 2.jpg I have never seen these white patches before on him, and they just appeared today. It does not look like dry skin and am curious if they are burn spots, even though my basking spot is 6 inches away with a 75 watt. Suggestions?

I don't know what it is but I don't think it's a burn. Doesn't look like a burn and isn't in the typical area you'd find burns. From the picture it just looks like colouration to me hopefully someone can give you a better answere though.

I see the white areas you're talking about but the photo isn't clear enough to really tell anything, so I don't know. Is there a way to get clearer, sharper photos?

Could be like a graze from falling or something? My female had a small patch similar after falling from a branch after her lights went out

I believe that they are thermal burns. I have the same thing going on in the same areas. I'm thinking that chameleons must have less nerves in that particular area and can't feel when it gets too hot.

When they are relaxed, you can't see the discoloration, but when they darken up, those areas don't change color.

These photos are of two different chameleons with exactly the same burn pattern BTW. Looks like the exact pattern on your panther although yours is less severe.

White spots

Hi. It is coloration. My Nosy Be has the same coloration. Go Google "Nosy Be chameleon images", and you will see lots of Nosy Bes with the same thing.

I disagree. According to the OP these particular marks on his spine near the hips and the isolated patch lower down on his side showed up suddenly. They were not part of his normal coloration. You are probably not referring to the same spots the OP is concerned about.
